Legal Counsel

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for projects involving the structuring of property funds, transactions and related contract negotiations Additionally, the successful candidate will assist with the selection, use, ongoing monitoring and relationship building of external counsel.

Main responsibilities will include:

• Handling of tax, legal and financial aspects of direct and indirect real estate and real asset transactions in the course of due diligences.
• Constructing tax optimised structures of downstream investments in Europe across a wide variety of transactions.
• Contract negotiations in coordination with the Legal Transactions lawyers, local Asset Manager, Finance and Treasury Teams.
• Analysis of the ideal investment route from direct and indirect property investments for the real estate and real asset products.
• Analysis and development of structural cash flow models for the Fund Finance team to operate.
• Supporting with tax and regulatory structuring of new fund products.
• Instructions and active management of external law firms, tax consultancies and accounting firms.
• Support the busines with tax structuring specific questions.
• Support of the finance team with day to day administration related questions of the fund structures.

Qualifications required:

• A degree in law / tax / finance or a related field
• Have at least 2 years of professional industry experience in real estate / real estate fund management (KVG) / private equity or in a tax law firm 
• Must have knowledge of national and international tax and investment tax law as well as real estate and corporate law. Knowledge of international tax structuring – an advantage.
• Excellent project management skills
• Like working in an international workplace with multi-cultural teams
• German and English fluently
