Corporate Insurance / Reinsurance Lawyer (3yrs+) - Cayman Islands

Our client’s Cayman Islands office is recognised as the pre-eminent counsel when it comes to advising on large, complex and multi-jurisdiction reinsurance transactional projects that involve innovative and precedent setting transactions and structuring for its plethora of institutional clients.

In response to strong deal flow they now require an additional corporate lawyer with solid experience of working on large, cross jurisdictional reinsurance transactions on the buy-in and buy-out side, representing global reinsurers, cedants, investors and sponsors of reinsurance entities.

As part of the Insurance practice group, the successful candidate will provide transactional support on reinsurance contracts across a variety of business lines, including property and casualty, health, pension risk transfer and longevity risk. You must be familiar with reinsurance contracts, the different types of treaty reinsurance contracts such as excess of loss, quota share, surplus and facultative reinsurance and modified coinsurance agreements. The role also requires the candidate to work collaboratively and closely with colleagues across practice groups and offices.

To be considered, applicants will possess excellent academics and top level experience developed at a medium to large law firm, with a minimum of 3 years PQE in a commonwealth jurisdiction (ideally at the 4-6 PQE level). Ambitious and commercially driven you will have strong technical & analytical ability allied to outstanding client handling skills.
