Legal Counsel, FTSE PLC

Arbuthnot Yon are working exclusively with a listed global business seeking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join their established legal team. We are keen to hear from bright junior to mid-level lawyers with a good teamwork ethos from a commercial background seeking to develop their careers in-house. 

Reporting into the Legal Director, the key focus of this role will involve advising on, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts from procurement to customer facing supply agreements.  A large part of your role will include supporting the procurement function which has a buying power in the £billions.  You will also get involved in wider a range of legal issues including intellectual property, information technology, competition law, data privacy, insurance, and general agreements; supporting on litigation matters and compliance. 

This role is a great first time in-house move to join a blue-chip business where you will be supported and guided by more experienced lawyers or if you are working inhouse already and are keen to develop then this is a great business to get more experience. The business culture is friendly and relaxed and you will have lots of interaction across the legal team and wider business. 

This position would be suited to a junior to mid-level lawyer from a commercial background who is keen to move into a business and have a commercially focused role where you will build and maintain strong relationships between Legal and commercial colleagues across the organisation, including the commercial teams and senior stakeholders.

A competitive salary and package is on offer including a car allowance, 20% bonus, pension and healthcare.  The business has adopted a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days in the office in the West Midlands.
