In-House Legal Counsel

The day to day role will involve:

• Covering a broad range of commercial contract matters including drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad range of contract matters, such as customer and supplier agreements, sales agreements, outsourcing agreements, supply chain, changes to standard terms, , third party, etc
• Supporting senior lawyers with complex agreements and transactions
• Act as a business partner to improve service delivery to key internal stakeholders
• Lead, support and collaborate with range of colleagues to meet a variety of legal needs and support business goals, providing commercial and pragmatic solutions at pace in a complex environment
• Working in collaboration with other members of the Legal team, to continuously improve the Legal Operating Model and drive innovation
• Provide advice and support to the business across corporate governence, compliance, GDPR and dispute resolution.
• Support the procurement and supply chain departments with commercial contract matters
• Deliver legal training to the business

The suitable candidate:

• UK qualified Solicitor or Barrister
• Ideally 1-3 years + PQE
• Trained with a reputable law firm an d then worked in-house or had exposure via a secondment with an in-house organisation
• A positive 'can-do' approach to their work.
• A willingness to build on legal skills and knowledge through ongoing professional development and attendance of relevant courses
• Strong sense of team

• Sound communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing business priorities
• Have had exposure to either manufacturing, logistics or food/FMCG sectors
