Corporate Trustee

Our client, the London office of a US headquartered firm, is one of the most prestigious law firms in the world.

A longstanding member of the global elite, the firm's Corporate group handles big ticket corporate and capital markets transactions for a blue chip client list, comprising leading global investment banks, NYSE, NASDAQ and FTSE-listed corporates, sovereigns and funds (both private equity and distressed).

The firm's London Corporate Trustee function (part of the firm's Capital Markets group) is market leading, and offers trust and agent representation in the High Yield space. The group is headed by a well-respected partner, who has remained busy despite the market uncertainty slightly affecting Capital Markets, and this hire is to fill a gap in the team's structure between the Partner and a more junior Associate. This position will entail a great deal of exposure to good deals with high value clients, and there will be plentiful opportunities for an ambitious Associate to become involved in BD and client development.

In order to be considered for this unusual opportunity, you will have:

• Strong academics and a high level of intellectual rigour;
• Training and between 4 and 8 years' post-qualification experience gained probably within the strong Capital Markets practice at a Magic Circle or US firm;
• An understanding of the Corporate Trustee function, and in particular experience advising corporate trustees and agents on capital markets transactions;
• A common sense, down-to-earth approach;
• Commerciality and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment; and
• The gravitas and ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a relaxed and confident manner.

This position attracts market-leading remuneration. For solicitors with appropriate experience based abroad, an excellent sponsorship and relocation package will also be available.
