Senior Compliance Counsel - Sanctions / ABC c.6-10pqe

Noble Legal have been appointed to lead the international search for a Senior Compliance Counsel for a major commodity trading firm based in London.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality general legal advice and support to all aspects of their business, focusing on Sanctions, Bribery & Corruption and implementing a robust compliance programme. The role will present a significant opportunity for professional growth and initiative in a dynamic in-house legal environment.

Qualifications

• Member in good standing of an internationally recognised Law Society or other relevant jurisdiction;
• Minimum 6+ years post qualified legal experience in private practice at a top tier law firm or as in-house legal counsel in a large international company environment;
• Solid legal training and pragmatic experience in compliance with a particular focus on Sanctions, Financial Crime and White Collar.
• Extractive industry experience and interest will be beneficial;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with effective research & analytical skills;
• Ability to quickly grasp legal and business issues and provide tailored legal advice and counsel in plain language;
• Ability to provide timely advice in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;
• Ability to take leadership
