This is an exciting opportunity to work within a top tier DEFENDANT team. They are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate with a real passion for this area of law, keen to work with a fantastic team. Many of their team members are rated in all directories, and seen to be leaders in this field. The firm has an exciting national reputation, and is seen to be the 'one to work for' in this area of law.

The work that they do is complex and specialist which may involve allegations of abuse, neglect, unlawful imprisonment, deprivation of liberty, failure to educate and some data breaches. They often include claims under the Human Rights Act.  The work is often high profile, very sensitive and attracts media attention.  It is very intellectually stimulating and there is a lot of “law”.  Some of the cases set precedent, and they have been successful in the court of appeal twice already this year.  Many of their clients are in the public sector such as local authorities, health and social care providers, the police and others.

This new role has come about through expansion, as the work has continued to flow in at a steady rate over many years. This is a financially robust firm, making it an obvious choice for those concerned for the stability of their own firm. They are also well-established enough within a wider practice, with other areas of law within the firm, which has been important for its financial backing.
