THE FIRM

A global law firm is offering a fantastic opportunity for a professional, technically strong and engaging individual to join as a London-based Sustainability and Climate Change Associate, as part of its ESG team.

THE ROLE

The firm's multi-specialist approach to the Sustainability Climate Change and practice group brings together expert lawyers advising on the wide range of sustainability, energy transition, ESG and climate change issues that organisations face.

The firm's clients increasingly view climate change and sustainability related matters as an opportunity to establish authentic purpose and differentiate themselves in the eyes of customers, investors and employees beyond just risk management.

Their Sustainability and Climate Change lawyers have been advising and training a broad range of clients, including those within the FTSE 100, government departments and think tanks, on integrating sustainability considerations into contractual documentation and business strategy.

While this is primarily client facing and fee earning, given the developing nature of the practice there will be a significant knowledge and innovation and business development angle to the role.

ABOUT YOU

Ideally with several years of experience working within private practice, or a suitable senior position elsewhere, with experience advising sophisticated clients and/or stakeholders on complex matters relating to sustainability and climate change.

The firm is flexible on prior experience but it is important to have a clear understanding of the breadth and dynamism of the sustainability, climate change and energy transition areas, and a keen appreciation of their increasing profile and significance.
