Amongst a plethora of litigation jewels in the crown, finance disputes shines out at this elite New York headquartered law firm. Seen as a first line of defence by many bulge bracket US and top European and Asian banks, the firm handles many of the most significant and complex finance disputes globally.
In London, despite having an objectively strong disputes offering – particularly in international arbitration and general commercial disputes - and a leading transactional finance team with deep relationships with elite banks, the firm considers itself underweight in bank side litigation which is causing it to miss out on instructions from many of its “house” bank clients.
The global managing partner is a leading disputes lawyer and is deeply investing in creating a truly trans-Atlantic finance disputes practice. Consequently the firm is keen to correct this “needless” seepage by increasing critical mass with the hire of a litigation lateral “known” to the banks who can exploit both their own and the firm’s consiglieri relationships. Your practice does not need to be exclusively finance disputes and can span litigation and arbitration. You will head the disputes team in London with the opportunity of developing an even larger role in 2021.
