In-house Legal Counsel

A leading innovative business with strong brand recognition is seeking to recruit a Commercial Legal Counsel to join the business at their head office in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.

This is a well-rounded legal function in a high-tech business, seeking to continue its innovation drive across all areas of the organisation. The business is a prominent brand with strong advertising and marketing, as well as a strong leaning towards utilising tech to boost their productivity as well as their customer offerings.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Commercial, the Legal Counsel will provide commercial advice on a range of matters, with the opportunity to touch on Marketing & Advertising, IT, IP and brand protection, as well as the chance to develop Corporate skills.

The legal team operates on a "business partnering" model where individual lawyers will face into specific teams across the wider business to provide advice, reporting back to the wider legal team. It is a highly supportive environment with the opportunity to gain management experience with the paralegals/trainees.

The Person

The successful applicant will be c.3-5 PQE (but open on this) with experience in Commercial Contracts who is seeking a career in-house with a brand. Any previous in-house experience would be beneficial, as would experience/interest in IT, software etc. It would suit a commercially-minded individual who is keen to build relations with personnel from all areas of the business and build an overview of the business as a whole.
