Job Details
Magic Circle law firm seeks a talented, career minded associate for their expanding U.S. Regulatory & Compliance Group, to be based in New York or Washington D.C.. Advising on the full spectrum of regulatory and compliance matters in the U.S. impacting global financial institutions, private equity, hedge and real estate fund managers, broker-dealers and banks, the U.S. Regulatory & Compliance team works closely with the firm’s global Financial Regulatory Group.
Academically strong, with a JD from leading law school, applicants will be in good standing with the New York Bar and/or District of Columbia Bar. Candidates should be class of 2017 – 2019 and have developed their experience to date within a leading firm, in-house, and/or within government (preferred agencies include the SEC, CFTC, FINRA, and Federal Reserve).
It is expected that you will have experience providing financial regulatory compliance advice to U.S. and non-U.S. financial institutions, funds and investment managers, while Broker-dealer and/or investment adviser experience would also be valuable, as would an interest in derivatives advisory work. Those candidates with investment management, funds or corporate experience, who have knowledge of / interest in regulatory matters (and who would be keen to transition into a full blooded reg role) are also encouraged to apply.
In all cases, candidates must be proactive and team-oriented, with an eagerness to learn and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
