THE BUSINESS
An exceptional opportunity has arisen to join a major UK business group, operating across numerous related sectors. With a turnover in the hundreds of millions and several thousand employees, the group already has a well established legal team, and are looking to compliment this with the addition of a Senior Legal Counsel to the business.
THE ROLE
This is a diverse commercial role, supporting key divisions within the group. You will give wide ranging legal advice across a range of legal matters, often with an international flavor. This might include drafting, negotiating and advising on significant heavyweight commercial contracts, corporate activity, IP matters, compliance issues, and there will likely be a significant technology element to the work. This high calibre legal team (6 lawyers) is well regarded within the organisation, and this role will interact on a daily basis with senior stakeholders
ABOUT YOU
You'll need to be a commercially astute lawyer, with strong technical legal skills. You'll be working alongside senior management and directors, and be supported by junior Legal Counsel, so you'll need and exceptional communication abilities. You'll enjoy working with little supervision and a high level of autonomy, able to take the initiative, and helping make business critical decisions.
You'll likely possess at least 6 years pqe, gained from a reputable commercial law firm, and ideally some in house experience. A commercial, corporate, projects or similar background would be the most useful skillset for this role.
ADDITIONAL
With West Yorkshire based headquarters, and several other office locations across the north, they embrace hybrid working, 2 days a week in the office being the norm. A strong remuneration package will include a bonus and car allowance.
