Legal Counsel

A global business which works with major blue chip companies is seeking to add a Legal Counsel to the team.

With offices based in London, Milton Keynes, Birmingham and Manchester, this position is open to lawyers based in one of these locations, combined with substantial home-working.

This position would suit a c.3-5 PQE Commercial Lawyer, or a Construction/Commercial Litigation Lawyer seeking to take on a more varied in-house role.

The business offers a range of products and services to customers in all sectors, ranging from blue chip organisations to government bodies, as well as partnering with major construction companies. They are a highly respected name in their field and work on highly bespoke services for their clients

The Role

The Legal Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel to support the business on a range of commercial matters, including:

* Drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements, including cross border client services agreements.
* Handling applications for approval by the Group of client services agreements.
* Advising and supporting on technology and intellectual property issues.
* Advising and supporting on commercial disputes.
* Advising and supporting on legal issues affecting communications (including advertising, online trading, confidentiality and privacy).
* Advising and supporting on compliance with law (including anti-bribery and anti-corruption law, competition law, data protection law, public procurement law, security industry specific regulation).

The Person

This position is open to lawyers from a variety of backgrounds seeking to develop in a broad in-house commercial role. The General Counsel is very much on hand for career development and is well-suited to upskill the successful candidate in the relevant areas. Any previous contracts experience, whether commercial, contentious-focused or construction, would be beneficial.
