Our client was featured in the Financial Times and recently named "FinTech Business of the Year". Founded by a top tier investment banker in 2017, this company is helping to tackle the UK's under supply of housing using cutting edge financial technology to provide finance to property developers. They have already assisted in building hundreds of new homes, they are growing fast and have big ambitions.
What will the role involve?
You will be at the centre of their Property Asset Management operations in their central London office, working alongside lenders and senior portfolio managers to give their borrowers an outstanding client experience; being responsible for managing development finance loan projects from end to end, and liaising with borrowers, brokers, valuers, surveyors and lawyers.
More specifically you will:
- Build long-standing relationship with their borrowers through highly responsive helpful communication; Reviewing and editing real estate development loan financial models; Getting quotes and instructing professionals (valuers, surveyors and lawyers); Actively managing due diligence checklists; Preparing credit committee papers on new projects for senior team; Process due diligence documentation from borrowers; Reviewing valuation and surveyor reports; Manging the legal process for loan documentation; Ensuring that all documentation relating to projects are correctly filed on internal systems.
What skill sets/traits are we looking for?
- Paralegal or legal professional who has basic knowledge of Property/Land law, and some practical experience of working in the Real Estate sector; Genuine interest and enthusiasm in property and working in real estate; Team player with a positive can-do attitude; A strong and creative problem solver, able to ‘think on your feet’ and confident in engaging with internal and external stakeholders; Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word; Being numerate and comfortable in using Excel; Highly organised, methodical with excellent prioritisation and time management; Show ability to work under pressure and will enjoy managing multiple projects to tight deadlines.
This is an unusual and excellent opportunity for someone with a legal background who wishes to move into the property sector and into a non-legal role, and be ‘trained up on the job’, so to speak. You will be surrounded by high calibre colleagues from other top tier institutions and join the business at a crucial and exciting time as it continues to grow and diversify.
