The Top 200 ranked firm is seeking a Charity solicitor to join at the Senior Associate level. This is an ideal position to consolidate your career and progress within a growing and successful law firm.

The role

This stand-out firm is seeking a new Charity Solicitor with 4+ years PQE to join their flourishing West End office.

The Charity team is currently based within the wider Private Client department number 40 staff and your role will be pivotal in supporting the creation of an independent Charity practice within the firm.

The type of clients you will be advising includes a number of well-known charities, their trustees and private individuals undertaking philanthropic and testamentary activities.

You will find a varied caseload, making for much more of an interesting role. You will primarily focus on Charity work acting for a number of very large charities but will also be required to advise philanthropists in their giving and structuring of their estates.

You will be expected to be able to prepare constitutional documentation for Charitable Trusts, Companies and CIOs, policies, agreements, deeds of gift and covenant, on occasion working closely with members of the firm's Corporate Department. This may include advice on a Charity's commercial engagement and brand exploitation, GDPR and data protection.

You will need to be able to deal with applications to register Charities in the UK, advise on regulatory and compliance issues, dealing with Charity land and special endowments, the merger and restructuring of schemes and other applications to the Charity Commission, and assisting with bringing and rebutting complaints.

In additon you will be aware of cross-border issues affecting Charities, and liaise as necessary with advisers in other jurisdictions.
