Funds Lawyer Legal Counsel role - Asset Manager - 3/4PQE + - Alternative Investment Funds

Exciting new and exclusive in-house Legal Counsel Funds role with direct impact on setting up new funds, working for a fast-growing asset manager. This role directly reports to the Head of Legal and is located in the West City, London.

As an in-house Funds Lawyer you are working on all elements of AIF fund lifecycle from structuring to winding down a variety of hedge funds, private debt and private equity.

• You will be drafting and negotiating all main fund documentations, IMAs and side letters.
• Assisting with tax structuring where necessary
• Managing funds and SPV board meetings, drive regulatory change in control applications in the UK and various European jurisdictions
• You will be working closely with Portfolio Managers, Operations Teams and Compliance, as well as Investor Relations teams and Fund Directors

The successful candidate must have minimum of 3/4 PQE or higher and previous experience in fund structuring of alternative investment funds (AIF) – hedge funds, private equity and debt. Good working of English law is essential. Previous in-house experience due to a secondment or permanent position beneficial. The ideal candidate would also be familiar with UK/European Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regime. US Funds experience is a plus.

This role is for a Funds Lawyer who is looking to be more involved in fund formation, than regulatory and aspect of fund maintenance and working on all levels of the business, which makes this role exciting and impactful. Due to the rapid growth of business, you will also gain good insight into setting up various alternative investment funds in a variety of locations.
