Senior Lawyer - Director - Private Banking - 6+PQE

This is an exciting new Director role to sit in the legal team of the private banking business in one of the leading UK investment banks. This in-house legal role is to support the distribution of investment products and advice on key legal and regulatory matters.

As a Director, you will cover a diverse range of legal support and risk assessment aspects for the private banking business. As one of the senior lawyers in this small and high-profile legal team, you will advise on investment services and product distribution, as well as support with regulatory change (AIFMD, MIFID, PRIIPs) and other high profile strategic projects. This is an impactful role in which you have the opportunity to work directly with the senior management of the business and control functions, as well as attending committees on your own and contributing to internal policies.

It is important for the role that you have in-depth and relevant knowledge in the area of wealth management and regulatory matters, acquired in private practice and ideally with previous in-house experience. Knowledge of the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD), the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) and the Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (PRIIPs) is essential. The successful candidate will also bring commercial acumen, strong communication skills, a solutions mind set and the ability to work independently. This is a role will suit a lawyer with a minimum 6 PQE from a top tier law firm or equivalent financial services institution.
