Our client boasts the largest, dedicated cyber incident response practice in Australasia led by a group of highly rated partners, engaged on the most diverse and interesting work in the market. Advising small, medium and large organisations operating across the Asia-Pacific in response to a range of incidents, the team assist clients on matters of privacy compliance, cyber incidents readiness and resilience exercises.

If you are a lawyer with cyber experience, our client would be very interested to hear from you. You might be a New Zealand or Australian qualified lawyer, wanting to return home from anywhere in the world, or a UK, Singaporean, South African, Canadian, MENA or other commonwealth qualified lawyer that will require visa sponsorship, which our client is happy to support. All applicants will need strong academics and experience developed within a top tier firm.

Positions are available in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne or Brisbane, or New Zealand (if you are a New Zealand citizen), while the firm are open to part time, flexible working arrangements. Roles includes:

Cyber Associates (c3-5yrs PQE) – Various Locations: Lawyers who are able to help manage the lifecycle of a cyber incident, related investigations and litigation. A key component is providing crisis and reputational management services to our clients following a cyber incident or data breach, as well as excellent customer service, in a seamless and timely manner. As part of the role, there is also the opportunity to support the pre-incident risk advisory practice. This role would suit lawyers with cyber or privacy experience, and / or those with experience in regulatory investigations, dispute resolution (particularly regulatory), and / or insurance.

Senior Cyber Associate – Sydney: Exciting opportunity available for intelligent and highly motivated Senior Associate to join our clients leading and rapidly expanding cyber incident response team. The successful candidate will manage the lifecycle of a cyber incident, related investigations and litigation. A key component is providing crisis and reputational management services to our clients following a cyber incident or data breach, as well as excellent customer service, in a seamless and timely manner. As part of the role, there is also the opportunity to support the pre-incident risk advisory practice. Senior Cyber Coverage Lawyer - Sydney: Our clients Sydney office has an exciting opportunity for an intelligent and highly motivated senior lawyer to join their leading and rapidly expanding cyber team to focus on assisting insurers navigate complex coverage issues arising from breaches. The role also involves the monitoring of live breaches and acting as the first notification of loss in some instances. This role has two main focusses:

  • Manage complex claims and disputes related to what a cyber insurance policy covers including assessing complex issues such as business interruption losses; and
  • Monitoring the live handling of cyber incidents by corporates or their appointed lawyers / vendors.

In all cases, the nature and size of the Cyber group will mean that you will be heavily involved in all aspects the matters undertaken, making a significant contribution to their outcome and your own personal and professional development.
