Managing Corporate Associate – Common Law Qualified (Jakarta, Indonesia)

In response to continued expansion across the South East Asia region, our client seeks a motivated Managing Associate for their Jakarta office. The team specialises in cross-border corporate transactions, including merger and acquisitions, private equity transactions, takeovers, and joint ventures, and advises on a mix of corporate strategic transactions and financial sponsor deals, primarily for the financial services, consumer and technology sectors. 

Reporting directly to the Partners, you will be advising corporates and financial institutions on a range of public and private M&A transactions, venture capital funds, general corporate and regulatory work. Key responsibilities / requirements include:

• Draft and review documentation, demonstrate familiarity with precedents and market standards;
• Provide both commercial and legal advice to the client;
• Supervise team and project manage multiple transactions;
• Network with clients to generate new business opportunities;
• Contribute to knowhow, communicate assertively when under pressure and be a proactive team player.

To be considered, applicants must possess excellent academic credentials and be admitted in a common law jurisdiction (with a minimum of 4yrs PQE on a UK scale). Bilingual English & Bahasa Indonesia and/or Bahasa Melayu skills essential while experience on Indonesian transactions with a top tier firm would offer an added advantage. As strong communicator, you will be comfortable dealing directly with clients and be motivated to build new business / client relationships across the region.
