Commercial Solicitor - Cardiff or Reading - Tier 1 Legal 500

Your new company
This leading UK firm is looking to expand their Commercial team in their Cardiff and Reading offices. Our client is known for their strength and depth, acting for large corporations, SME's, entrepreneurs, public sectors, charity organisations and individuals alike. Their Commercial team were ranked Tier 1 in the Legal 500 for 2022 and undertake a wide range of work. Their clients respect the firm for their exemplary service, heritage and engagement, and their clients often refer others to them for all types of legal work. They are currently looking for Commercial Solicitors at all levels to join them, particularly at the 1-7 PQE range. They are continuing to work flexibly between the office and home, and so the need to be physically in the office will not be full time and is something that will be agreed with you on a business need basis.

Your new role
You will be assisting the partners and senior solicitors with a wide range of large commercial transactions whilst also working on various other commercial matters such as; trading agreements, T's & C's, distribution and agency agreements, research and collaboration agreements, all aspects of data protection compliance and advise, IT contracts, outsourcing agreements, consumer contracts and non-disclosure agreements.

Your role will include working across both private and public sector clients such as medical equipment suppliers, IT projects, public procurement with the NHS and local government sectors. With exposure to a wide variety of work, you will be also assisting with GDPR and data protection if desired.

What you'll need to succeed
You should be passionate about commercial law as well as being enthusiastic to develop and grow your career. You should be a qualified solicitor, ideally with at least 1 years PQE, however candidates at the NQ level with good commercial experience gained during their training contract and/or as a paralegal prior to qualifying are encouraged to apply. You should have good commercial awareness, good drafting skills, be a team player and have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Additional experience or interest in areas of I.T and data protection would be preferred and useful however not essential. Our client is also happy to speak with candidates who are looking to move into a commercial role; perhaps you are currently working in another sector of law but have always had a passion for commercial law that you have never been able to explore.
