Job Details

This international firm seeks an experienced litigation solicitor to join their leading financial services litigation department in Birmingham.

A fixed term assignment of 12 months (with the prospect of going permanent after that time) the role will support the Financial Services Disputes & Investigations team on a large piece of work for a key client. You will play a pivotal role reporting into and assisting a senior lawyer in the day to day management of their paralegal team, and dealing with more complex cases.

You will be an experienced litigator with at least 6 years PQE with experience of managing small claims or fast track cases to trial and a thorough and detailed understanding of the CPR. You will be able to demonstrate experience of mentoring, coaching and line managing/supervising junior colleagues. Your additional day to day responsibilities will include being directly responsible for a small team of paralegals, ensuring a high quality of work, file management and adherence to policies. You will not have a caseload of your own.

You should have been working in an environment where meticulous attention to detail is crucial as well as demonstrating the management of complex processes and contribution towards their improvement. An ability to organise and prioritise your own workload, as well as that of paralegals is an important attribute.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator with proven management and supervisory skills to take a step away from the rigours of individual fee-earning and play a key role in managing a market leading team for a top law firm.
