About the Organisation

This independent philanthropic organisation specialises in the welfare of vulnerable children in developing countries. Headquartered in London, the organisation also has offices in Africa, China and India and takes a hands-on approach in developing and implementing measures to improve child welfare by business acumen with development experience. It works with partners and seeks to be the gold standard in grant making and charitable operations.

The Opportunity

A unique opportunity now exists for a lawyer to join the foundation on a 12 month contract. You will provide support on a wide range of matters, including the drafting and negotiation of agreements with grantee organisations and partners, conducting due diligence, advising on appropriate legal structures through which to provide funding, and advising on governance and company secretarial matters. As part of a small legal team, you will have the opportunity to work in close business partnership with staff at all levels across the foundation, developing effective working relationships and providing advice on a wide range of day-to-day matters.

About You

Excellent transactional experience and broad general commercial experience is key. Any exposure or experience in impact investment would be useful but is not essential. Regulatory, corporate governance and investment funds experience would all be useful. You must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and flexibility of approach to respond to the demands of a small but growing organisation.
