Help us create a better future, quicker

We are looking to recruit a construction solicitor (contentious and/or non-contentious) to support ScottishPower’s Energy Networks business.

We are looking for a solicitor with either previous exposure to any of the following areas or an appetite to develop their skills in one of these fields:

  • contentious construction
  • non-contentious construction / construction procurement
  • infrastructure projects
  • litigation

Experience of working in the energy sector is a bonus but provided you have an appetite to work in the sector and are a UK qualified solicitor or Advocate/Barrister then we want to hear from you.

ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world’s largest integrated utility companies and a world leader in wind energy. With a commitment to generate all of our energy from renewable resources, a drive to create the next generation of energy grid infrastructure and the ambition to build a Retail business of the future, we’re at the forefront of the journey to Net Zero and are investing over £6m every working day to make this happen.

SP Energy Networks, a division of the ScottishPower group, is a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator. We keep electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire, and Shropshire. We do this through the network of overhead lines and underground cables which we own and maintain. No matter who you pay your bill to, we’re the people to contact if you have a power cut, need a new or upgraded power connection, or spot an issue with our equipment. In addition, the energy landscape is changing fast, and the way our customers and communities interact with energy is evolving just as rapidly. Our role is to facilitate the decarbonisation objectives and choices of our customers, communities, and stakeholders, and to enable their journey to Net Zero.

What’s in it for you
As well as a competitive salary, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits. With our pension scheme, we’ll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.

And at ScottishPower, we believe it’s the little things we do in life that make a big difference. From helping you look after your family’s wellbeing, save for your future and take personal steps for climate action – our benefits are designed to help you do just that - so that you have everything you need to take care of your world – today and tomorrow.
