Corporate Lawyer 6 years+ for Lead Investor in Growth Economy; Hybrid/Flexible Working

Our client is proud to be a lead investor in the growth economy; an established and independent business that is going from strength to strength with a clear purpose and mission to support small to medium sized businesses, to help them expand and improve their returns in a sustainable way, underpinned by long-term capital and minority shareholdings.

We are partnering with this client in a search to find them a mid-senior level corporate lawyer with investments experience.  This role sits within a strategic and integrated in-house legal team working alongside the Investment team and wider business, at all levels.           

What will the role involve:

• Providing support to the Investment team on a range of investment matters.  Deals are executed by external lawyers with the in-house lawyer supporting deal teams on early discussions, technical requirements and providing guidance to external lawyers as required
• Delivering relevant legal training for the Investment team
• Providing advice on any aspect of the corporate business, strategic matters and contracts with suppliers.

What technical skills are we looking for?

• Corporate lawyer 6 years+ PQE
• Solid experience in advising growth/private equity houses
• In-house experience or a secondment desirable but not essential

What softer skills are we looking for?

• The ability to operate at all levels, and convey legal matters to non-legal colleagues in a simple and effective way
• A pragmatic approach to work, a problem-solver who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved
• Someone who comes with no ego, who is grounded and pragmatic
• A team player, someone who wants to work collaboratively.
