Assistant Company Secretary

A friendly company secretarial team within a financial services company is looking to hire an additional member to join the function. Sitting closely with legal, this position offers a wide variety of work including the opportunity to get involved in some broader governance projects such as sustainability and ESG. Day to day company secretarial work will include supporting the risk and audit committees who meet regularly, working on year end reports, preparation for AGMs etc, producing of agendas and preparing for meetings, reviewing minutes and getting the paper packs out, which can be heavy in a regulated business.

As well as those with company secretarial experience, this position is also open to any qualified lawyers interested in moving into the co sec space who may have a corporate governance background. We are looking for someone relatively junior who will grow into the role, and training and development will be provided. We are looking for someone passionate about their work who is able to get a good understanding of the business and the committees. We are looking for someone with a level of confidence and credibility to deal with very senior people and speak out in meetings but who will also roll their sleeves up and do whatever is required. Hybrid/flexible working is available.
