Legal Counsel 2+PQE Job - Gloucester + Hybrid Working

Your new company
Our client are a dynamic, growing business, who are looking for a Legal Counsel 2+PQE to help contribute to the success of their business through providing a professional in-house legal service as a commercially oriented business partner. You will take a key role in advising the business on a range of commercial matters including working closely with their customers and helping their operations team. They cover a wide Legal remit from employment, to general commercial, risk mitigation and dispute resolution, corporate and property. This role is based in the Gloucester/Cheltenham region, and the business are looking for someone to be office based 3 days per week to start with, therefore it is anticipated that you will live within a commutable distance of their offices. Your new role
Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide expert, pragmatic, commercial and risk aware advice and support on issues for the whole Company focusing primarily on the Operations, People, and Finance teams. You will Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers and customers, manage complex transactions involving regulatory matters and multi-jurisdictional issues and proactively identify arising risk areas and work with key stakeholders across the business to develop and deliver risk mitigation solutions. You will participate in the development and implementation of policy, procedure, and know-how in the legal function and elsewhere in the business.


About you

You will have experience of general company/commercial law, and/or corporate law, and negotiating and drafting a wide range of complicated commercial contracts. You will ideally have at least 2 years post qualification experience and will be a qualified solicitor permitted to practice in England and Wales. It is vital that you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously or as an excellent team player who can work with minimal supervision.
