Principal Associate – Clinical Negligence – Birmingham – Hybrid
 
An exciting role has presented itself to an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor/Associate wanting to progress to the next stage in their career. The successful candidate will be joining my client, an award winning, Top 45 law firm, in their Birmingham office within the Healthcare team.
The healthcare team is a specialist department providing advice on all aspects of healthcare law, which includes, clinical negligence, the safety of patients, consent to treatment, human rights, mental health, and child law. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to develop their own and our teams’ practices.

The Principal Associate’s responsibilities will include (not limited to):
  • Specialising in acting on behalf of NHS Litigation Authority and NHS Trusts to protect their interests
  • Managing a case load of litigated and pre-litigated clinical negligence cases
  • Conducting relevant investigations
  • Liaising with various parties such as claimants and their solicitors, clients, counsel, experts etc.
  • Demonstrating strong advocacy skills
  • Assisting the Team Manager and other team members with their cases, client development, client training, networking and potentially public speaking where required
  • Drafting various documents to include SLA reports and pleadings
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments
  • Contributing to business development
  
About the Principal Associate:
  • Qualified Solicitor 4YR + PQE
  • Experience of defending high value and complex litigated and pre litigated clinical negligence claims
  • Demonstrable experience in the healthcare sector
  • Excellent technical ability and knowledge of CPR
  • Experience in investigating and analysing evidence
  • Experience of training, supervising, and developing junior team members would be an advantage
