We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced data privacy lawyer to join us as we expand and grow our client base.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the fast-developing area of data privacy and cyber security. You will need to be flexible, a good team player and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. You will advise GRCI Law clients as well as other businesses within GRC International Group on a wide range of privacy, data protection and data security matters, such as compliance with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), international data transfers, data breaches, e-privacy and marketing. Responsibilities include:
- Advising on all aspects of the GDPR, including drafting and reviewing data protection contracts, data protection policies, procedures and notices;
- Assisting and managing privacy compliance framework projects; and
- Advising on data privacy and cyber security risk management.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be a commercially astute, qualified lawyer with experience in commercial contract drafting, privacy law and data protection;
- Be a solicitor or barrister (qualified to practise law in at least one European jurisdiction) with at least five years’ legal experience at a law firm, in-house or at a data protection authority;
- Be able to assess legal, practical and business risks quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment, and make sound judgments under tight deadlines;
- Be able to find practical and creative solutions and provide concise and business-focused legal advice;
- Have experience advising on, reviewing and drafting a range of commercial contracts;
- Have excellent problem-solving, written and oral communication and interpersonal skills; and
- Have excellent client relationship management and business development skills.
The following are desirable but not essential:
- Experience working directly with European data protection authorities.
- Data protection qualifications.
- Experience working with mobile application development, social networking, online advertising, machine learning, or other Internet technologies.
- Knowledge of, or fluency in, other European languages.
