Our Client, a FTSE Listed Construction and Facilities Outsourcing entity, is seeking a mid-senior level Contentious Construction Lawyer. This is a permanent role reporting into the Group General Counsel. A hybrid working opportunity, where the successful candidate may work remotely from home and is expected to work in the office 1-2 days per week. The organisation has multiple office sites across the UK (including Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Gloucestershire) any of which the Construction Lawyer may work from.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on contractual claims and disputes and professional negligence disputes
- Providing dispute strategy and resolution advice to the Board
- Leading on contractual processes, ADR, (including adjudication and mediation), court proceedings and arbitration
- Liaising with insurance brokers on matters such as the conduct of claims and protecting the company’s coverage
- Supporting the engineering and commercial and credit control departments on working capital issues
- Dealing with corporate governance issues and mitigating risk
- Managing and instructing external counsel
The ideal candidate will be an experienced UK qualified construction solicitor who has dealt with a wealth of dispute resolution matters. Prior in-house experience is of interest, however not essential.
The successful counsel will join a highly collegiate and knowledgeable, lean in-house team where the workload varies on a day-to-day basis. Excellent remuneration and flexible working.
