Leading Hedge Fund requires an employment lawyer who will report into the Global Head of HR. The role will principally focus on the day-to-day employment matters in the UK and will help develop related policies and guidelines. Additionally, you will help on employment matters globally on an ad-hoc basis when required.

The role will involve:

Work with and advise the UK HR team and UK business managers providing guidance and practical solutions on a broad spectrum of employment law matters, including employment contracts, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, leaves of absence, internal investigations, terminations and other employment related matters.

  • Draft, review and negotiate employment‐related contracts including complex and senior level/ front office agreements with a focus on compensation and restrictive covenants; as well as drafting documentation for all employee processes such as grievance's, contract variations, redundancies and or restructuring etc.
  • Keep updated on developments in employment law and evolving best practices; maintaining strong relationships with cross‐functional stakeholders to provide training and updates as needed
  • Liaising with external counsel in the UK and other jurisdictions as appropriate on employment law matters such as severance/ settlement terms of exiting employees
  • Advising on/ drafting documentation on arrangements with employees working in other jurisdictions outside the UK
  • Training the business on employment law issues and developments
  • Provide strategic advice to the HR team on any potential employment tribunal claims and litigation
  • Supporting on any employment aspects of any corporate acquisitions
  • Managing and advising on immigration employment matters
  • Attending to any other employment legal tasks that may arise from time to time.
