Job Details
The firm is very well regarded for real estate in the US and there is a real desire by the US management and key real estate lawyers to establish a real estate practice in London. This is a first-time appointment and the firm is looking to develop an in-bound investment and US-headquartered corporate occupier real estate practice in London. The firm has recently lost a handful of deals that would have been gifted by key US clients to the London lawyers if there had been a London real estate practice. The firm is particularly interested in teams of lawyers but any London real estate team will probably not (at any stage) include construction, planning, or development capability.

At Edwards Gibson, we have placed 35 real estate sector partners over the last five years. This has included two large teams of five or more partners. In 2021 we have placed 6 real estate sectors partners – three real estate partners with investment and development experience, two real estate finance partners – lender and borrower experience, and one real estate tax partner.
