Our need 

MLA is currently seeking a Financial Markets Regulatory Legal Consultant to join its platform and undertake an interim assignment for 12 months with a leading investment manager. 

Role requirements include:

• Helping the business manage any markets structural reformations, major regulatory change initiatives, and other ad hoc regulatory change;
• Partnering with the business to work on regulatory implementation and advocacy;
• Assisting the business by supporting any strategic advocacy efforts with key regulators and lawmakers directly.

To be considered for this role, you must possess: 

·       Excellent private practice training from a leading UK or US law firm and have at least three years’ post-qualification experience in derivatives and/or capital markets transactions.

·       Experience advising on markets regulatory requirements (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR, Brexit onshoring);

·       Ideally have in-house experience (including secondments) within the financial services space (at least three months); 

·       Strong commercial acumen and interpersonal skills.
