Insurance Lawyer (Commercial Contracts) – 7-12PQE

Our client is a leading underwriter with a major organic expansion plan already underway.  As part of this approach, the General Counsel, a well-respected and highly experienced builder and manager of elite legal teams, has been mandated to restructure the department, bringing in an additional 10 lawyers over the course of the year. 

As part of this initiative, they now seek dramatically to expand the service they offer to the business in support of both insurance-related and central commercial contracts matters.  Working as a senior resource within a team of four lawyers, you will have ownership of a portfolio of internal clients and complex agreements.  These will include affinity partnerships, insurance distribution arrangement, broker TOBAs, insurer terms of service and the review of policy arrangements.  Working closely with the business, you will be integral to the processes underpinning new business initiatives, partnerships and joint ventures as well as central agreements including service, procurement and joint operating arrangements across EMEA.

This highly responsible, senior position reports direct to the General Counsel and requires a qualified Solicitor with 6-12 years’ PQE, some of which gained in the drafting and negotiation of insurance related agreements and commercial contracts.  In return, you will have access to the front-line business, a collegiate, meritocratic environment and a General Counsel who is truly committed to the development of his lawyers’ careers.  Long term prospects abound in this dynamic and fast changing environment.
