Our client, one of the largest banks in Japan, that provides specialist investment banking services to an international client base, are now looking for a derivatives lawyer to join their established and highly regarded London legal team.
The work in this team can be complex in nature, so we are looking for lawyers with solid derivatives knowledge who understand multiple types of fundraisings, be they related to bond issuances, acquisition financing, loan documentation and/or securitisation packages.
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- Taking responsibility for identifying key issues in derivatives documentation and escalating matters to the Head of Legal as and when necessary;
- Analysing financing and security documents for derivatives hedging;
- Providing support and advice on global regulatory issues (including netting opinions).
The successful candidate must:
- Be a qualified lawyer, preferably in the UK, or in another common law jurisdiction;
- Have a broad knowledge of derivatives transactions and derivatives hedging;
- Show a deep understanding of finance documents;
- Have advanced negotiation skills.
