Legal Counsel - Commercial, Distribution & Regulatory

DAZN is disrupting the sports industry.  Since launch in 2016, we have been acquiring premium sports rights and using world class technology to provide a global sports streaming service, offering fans the ability to watch their favourite sports events live and on demand on almost any device.  We are UK based, with offices in our key markets Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan and the US.

Now we have an exciting opportunity to join DAZN as a Legal Counsel in the Commercial, Distribution and Regulatory Legal Team.

Depending on your preference and experience, you’ll focus on supporting the Distribution, the Production or the Commercial & Regulatory business teams.  You’ll be based centrally in our Hammersmith office (hybrid working applies) and, as part of an international team, you’ll be working with lawyers & business teams across the globe.

Your key responsibilities will be based on the relevant focus of your role:

  • Distribution – you’ll negotiate renewals of deals with App platform partners such as  Apple & Google; support wholesale deals with Telco partners for the bundling of our App to their customers; and work on the distribution of our TV channels to commercial premises.
  • Commercial & Regulatory – you’ll negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, guide the Product team on the launch of new features, and support the global business on regulatory matters.
  • Production – you’ll provide 360 degree support to our new DAZN Studios division, which includes negotiating agreements relating to our commissioning of content, advising on issues that arise on our inhouse productions, and looking to develop & instil best practice processes.

As part of the role (whichever the focus), you will be the touchpoint for key business stakeholders, will work on international projects with other members of the legal team, and will assist on other matters falling within the auspices of the team; providing a well-rounded variety of work.

You will be a junior or mid-level qualified lawyer with experience of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts and/or contracts in the production or broadcasting environment. Experience of negotiating and working in collaboration with global streaming services is preferable, but not essential.

As DAZN expands, it offers you the opportunity to work on a broad range of matters, obtain great experience and take on more responsibility as the business grows – giving you the opportunity to develop the role and make it your own!

Benefits include access to DAZN, 25 days’ annual leave (increasing by 3 days after 3 years), annual performance-related bonus, private medical insurance, life assurance, pension contributions up to 5%, family friendly community, free access for you and one other to our workplace mental health platform app (Unmind), learning and development resources, opportunity for flexible working and access to our internal speaker series and events.

At DAZN, we bring ambition to life. We are innovators, game-changers and pioneers. So if you want to push boundaries and make an impact, DAZN is the place to be.

As part of our team you'll have the opportunity to make your mark and the power to make change happen. We're doing things no-one has done before, giving fans and customers access to sport anytime, anywhere. We're using world-class technology to transform sports and revolutionise the industry and we're not going to stop.

If you're ambitious, inventive, brave and supportive, then you're the kind of person who's going to enjoy life at DAZN.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment, both inside and outside of our walls, that values equality and diversity and where everyone can contribute at the highest level and have their voices heard. For us, this means hiring and developing talent across all races, ethnicities, religions, age groups, sexual orientations, gender identities and abilities. If you’d like to include a cover letter with your application, please feel free to. Please do not feel you need to apply with a photo or disclose any other information that is not related to your professional experience.

Our aim is to make our hiring processes as accessible for everyone as possible. We will do our best to accommodate adjustments for interviews.

We look forward to hearing from you.
