In House Legal Counsel - National Commercial Vehicle Service Hire Business - 3 to 7 PQE - Birmingham (Remote)

We are working with one of the UK's largest fleet rental business that is revolutionising the "service hire" industry via its market leading electric vehicle projects. If you are looking for a role where you would be working closely with the key stakeholders and leading the negotiations on multi million pound value B2B/B2C contracts with household names in a range of sectors such as retail, logistics, energy and construction on a wide variety of legal work, then this role will provide that in abundance.

The role

Reporting into the General Counsel, you will be advising on a variety of matters such as:

· Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and reporting on a wide range of high value commercial contracts (e.g. B2B customer and supplier agreements and general procurement).
· Improve efficiencies through Legal Ops, including automation, playbook management and providing training to non-legal parts of the business.
· Leading, supporting and collaborating with a range of colleagues to meet the business's legal needs, providing commercial and pragmatic solutions at pace and to inform and promote business goals and ensure legal compliance.
· Providing strategic and legal support to material disputes, litigation and/or regulatory issues (managing external lawyers when required).
· Building and maintain key relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

The person

You will be experienced in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, ideally in the retail or services sector and also be willing to turn your hand to other areas which come with this varied in-house role. This is an ideal role for a lawyer who wants to be at the sharp end of contract negotiations and wants more autonomy, with the required support.

The package is made up of the base salary, potential 10% bonus, car allowance, pension, life insurance, private medical, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. The legal team are working remotely, with a day in the office for a team catch up either monthly or bi-monthly.
