Greater Manchester company seeks Corporate, Banking or similar transactional solicitor to join its team as Legal Counsel (Transactions and Corporate). This newly created role is a superb opportunity for a high-calibre solicitor to join a market leading company.

Our Greater Manchester client is a leading player in the UK energy market and it's legal department is integral to its current and future success. The company is highly-profitable and backed by leading investors who anticipate further expansion, both in the UK and internationally.

BCL Legal has worked with this client many times and we can vouch for the quality of the legal department and work. This role comes highly recommended.

Role - Legal Counsel (Transactions and Corporate)

To support further growth, the company seeks to recruit an additional Legal Counsel to work on a range of high-profile multi-million pound projects and transactions.

Reporting to the Head of Legal, the Legal Counsel (Transactions and Corporate) will assist on all legal aspects of transactions, working closely with the company's Transactions Directors, Business Development and Commercial Teams, and External Counsel. You will review and negotiate corporate, project and finance documents, help manage external solicitors and advisors, and undertake general deal and transactions management matters.

In addition to working on transactions the Legal Counsel (Transactions and Corporate) role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their in-house career through involvement on broader commercial projects and general corporate work.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre corporate, banking/finance, projects or similarly transactions focused solicitor to make the move in-house and to develop broader legal experience.

About you:

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be working with, or have trained at, a leading private practice law firm. You should have c. 1-4 years' PQE (although this is only a guide) gained in a relevant transactional legal discipline such as corporate, banking, finance or similar.

Due to the work involved, someone with a good knowledge of loan market association documentation and/or project finance principles would be advantageous.

What's on offer:

In exchange for your hard work, our client offers a very competitive basic salary plus generous bonus, pension and wider package.

Hybrid working is on offer with c. 3 days in the Manchester office and 2 days from home anticipated.

BCL Legal is an equal opportunities employer.
