IP Counsel and DPO – French speaking

Our client is a Global Telecommunications and internet services company who are seeking a qualified solicitor who has strong IP and Data Protection knowledge as well as being conversant in French.

THE ROLE:

Data Protection Officer

• Acting as Data Protection Officer.
• Responsible for setting, assessing and approving budget relating to data protection/GDPR.
• Leading the ongoing compliance with regards to GDPR.
• Conducting risk assessments, impact assessments.

IP Counsel

• Manage IP litigation against third party infringements of the brand.
• Gathering and preparing evidence to support key IP conflicts.
• Supervise legal searches and clearances for the use and registration of proposed new trademarks for specific products/services.
• Responsible for instructing and managing external lawyers in relation to trademark portfolio and IP/brand conflicts.

SKILLSET:

• Qualified solicitor.
• Fluent in French.
• Extensive experience in Intellectual Property and Data Protection.
• Strong legal drafting and negotiating experience with gravitas to influence, persuade and negotiate at all levels.
