About the Company

Our client is one of the most high profile sports organisations in the world. The company has responsibility for ensuring both the hosting and broadcasting of the sport globally. A rare and unique opportunity now exists for a Legal Counsel to join its well-respected legal team based in London and support the commercial operations of the business.

The Opportunity

Whilst the role is broadly general commercial in nature, the business sells broadcasting rights and as a result, the role has a media/IP element. In addition, you will lead on sponsorship agreements as well as licensing activities and digital matters (dedicated TV channels, marketing, etc.) The business negotiates with international partners and the work is truly global in nature, which also means providing compliance and regulatory support in challenging markets. You will also support on matters relating to events, data privacy and procurement. As part of a highly commercial legal team, you will work closely with the business, providing day to day legal advice on a wide range of matters.

About you

The position will suit a commercially minded lawyer with media experience looking to join and be part of a high profile business. You will need to be able to demonstrate sound commercial contracting skills and experience in selling broadcasting rights. A solid understanding of licensing, sponsorships and marketing is also key.
