The firm is at an exciting moment and has an outstanding opportunity for someone to join the in-house risk and compliance function of the firm as Deputy General Counsel. Reporting to and working closely with the General Counsel, you will play a key role in a broad range of complex issues. This will include protecting the firm’s interests in its ongoing commercial activities and protecting the brand and reputation of the firm by giving appropriate legal and commercial advice. You will also take a leading role in advising the firm on its regulatory and compliance obligations and responsibilities.
As part of the senior management team, you will be an advisor to senior colleagues including the Senior Partner and Managing Partner on a range of issues. Our client is looking for someone with leadership skills and personality, who will work well with people at all levels within the business and can effectively manage and motivate a team. The firm is also looking for someone with commercial acumen who has the confidence, credibility and gravitas to build relationships and influence senior colleagues.
Ideally you will have at least 10 years’ pqe with some commercial and transactional experience which has been supplemented with risk and compliance experience gained with another leading international law firm, professional services business or other regulated business or major financial institution. Experience of commercial, regulatory compliance and litigation matters will also be an advantage.
