Charities Corporate Solicitor NQ+ Job - Bristol

Your new role
This is a rare opportunity for a newly (or soon to be) qualified to mid-level Solicitor to join a highly successful and growing Charities department at a multi-office firm, with a really interesting client base and a very supportive and friendly environment. Their lawyers provide sector focussed advice to a wide range of education institutions from nurseries through to universities and have advised on more transactions within the sector than any other firm in the last 12 months. This role presents as an excellent opportunity for a solicitor from either a corporate or charities background who has a genuine interest in the education sector and really enjoys transactional work.

Your new role
In this busy transactional role you'll be providing expert legal and strategic advice to independent schools and commercial acquirers of education businesses and a range of roles and levels of responsibility on mergers between charities, sales and purchases, joint ventures, share and business and asset, bank lending, venture capital and private equity investments. There will also be an element of non-transactional work in the form of reviewing and amending charity constitutions, company secretarial advice and support, re-organisations and related advice, corporate governance or general corporate and charity advisory work. This is a really unique role covering education corporate transactions with fantastic direct exposure to education clients that stretch across the country and internationally!

What you'll need to succeed
You do not necessarily need to have prior or extensive experience within this field but should have up to circa 4 years PQE with a genuine interest and enthusiasm in the Charities sector. NQ's are encouraged to apply - you will likely have undertaken a Corporate or Charities seat during your training contract. If joining at a more experienced level, in terms of your background, perhaps you qualified into corporate for your love of transactions, but have a genuine interest in charities and the education sector and weren't aware you could combine the two. Perhaps you've a keen interest or a background in charity law but love the buzz of transactions. And you may even have a few years of corporate or charity law under your belt already. All the above backgrounds are of interest to my client but for them it's really about engaging with a lawyer who's genuinely passionate about education, is eager to learn, loves working in a team and wants to immerse themselves in this really fascinating sector. You will have a natural instinct towards working as a team and providing support to colleagues and will be actively encouraged to take part in networking and other marketing activities. This is a brilliant opportunity to progress your career with a first class legal firm and has real potential for the right person.

What you'll get in return
You will be working for high calibre clients in a collaborative, collegiate environment. You will be joining a firm with an excellent culture that is focused on their employees' personal development - including their distinctive lawyer career framework. Alongside a market leading salary you'll receive a generous benefits package that you can tailor to fit your needs. With both flexible and hybrid working options available, this is a great opportunity that would suit those already in the Southwest or those looking to relocate to the Southwest in the future.
