An Employment Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent is required for a growth role at a medium sized employment and HR advisory organisation based in Manchester. Although the organisation is headquartered here, candidates from other locations are encouraged to apply - they operate a national service and as long as there are good travel links and you are happy to work remotely (and to travel when required) then you can work elsewhere.
You should bring at 3 years or more of good quality employment law experience from a law firm or in-house background to be considered for this opportunity.
This is an organisation with a seriously impressive client list by any standards, certainly that belie the size of the business. Mid and top tier trained candidates would probably be the best fit.
The pandemic has brought a few changes to the way that this business operates and offers its services, but its employees were able to work in a hybrid and grown-up trusted fashion long in advance. A lot of clients are national so there is an element of travel involved in normal times, although nothing to hopefully put too many off, and others may see this as an attractive part of the role.
The tech is good, and has been heavily invested in for a long time - this goes some way to eliminate unnecessary travel and has given them some advantages in the way they can deliver training in the new style of work we find ourselves in.
I would say that the people are probably the main selling point. This business and its people are a pleasure to work with, and they are passionate and quietly confident in their ability but importantly also have an open and inclusive approach - it's a true team rather than a collection of individuals working all over the place.
