Their lawyers have won numerous accolades and are currently highly ranked in Global Competition Review, Chambers Global, Legal 500 EMEA, and a host of other antitrust publications. The London office consists of a team of English and internationally qualified lawyers with a practice focus on energy & projects, dispute resolution, banking & finance, corporate, antitrust and intellectual property, advising clients throughout the world.

This role for an associate in their London-based competition law team, will involve loose involvement with their Brussels and D.C. offices advising clients on UK, EU and international competition law issues in connection with mergers, competition investigations and litigation. The Brussels team of 15 has extensive experience in European and international competition issues and has engaged at the highest levels in the development of European competition law and policy. Their UK team has extensive experience in representing international and UK clients before the CMA in mergers, abuse of dominance and cartel investigations, as well as market investigations, and the defence of follow-on damages claims before the Competition Appeals Tribunal. They operate as a closely-integrated group across their Brussels, London and D.C. offices and work together to advise clients on a global basis in a variety of industries including technology, energy, shipping and life sciences.

The Role
They are recruiting for an 2-4PQE associate in London to join their Antitrust group, to work on EU and UK antitrust counselling, merger control, investigations and litigation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2:1 degree from a UK university (or equivalent for non-UK university)
  • Postgraduate degree/LLM in EU law
  • Qualified in England and Wales or equivalent for non-UK, or eligible to become qualified in England and Wales following completion of the QLTS
  • Experience in antitrust counselling, UK and EU merger and behavioural investigations, and international merger control

The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with US/international clients
  • Traineeship at the Competition and Markets Authority, the EU Commission or other competition authority, and/or experience as a competition lawyer in an in-house role
  • Experience in antitrust issues in the technology or energy sectors.
