If you are already a corporate solicitor and you've gained a good level of PQE and solid transactional experience then chances are you are being pretty well looked after and are pretty well positioned. No doubt you are being worked hard. Then again, you work in corporate so it pretty much comes with the territory.

That being said, you may look upwards at what progression means where you are and how long that may take and more importantly how much of yourself you might have to give to get there.

So how could this role be different?

Well, for a start this is global organisation and the brand and work attraction is almost satellite in nature. You would need to integrate within the team and with key stakeholders in the business which you might say is tantamount to business development but the internal market is there so its definitely an easier life.

The global nature of the business also means that they are fully invested in their people and the idea of achieving a work life balance is not only spoken about but put into practice and all the systems and structures are in place for agility.

In this role you will work in a well structured team so not only is there scope to progress upwards but there is also a strong infrastructure around you to support that.

The work?

​​​​​​​Depending on what you want to do, hopefully this is the part where it gets interesting. The work is varied. At its core sits a corporate practice so being familiar with and experience in corporate transactional work is central. However, beyond that work sits a range of broader commercial centric aspects often with a key strategic element to the business whether that be as part of a wider restructuring or top to bottom reorganisation - you will be providing key advisory view to a range of businesses.

Maybe I haven't done that justice but the bottom line is the work will be challenging, complex but above all interesting  - there is a reason that the current team has remained in situ since its evolution. The quality of the team is also to be lauded and their big firm corporate and commercial experience has added to the high quality service they provide.

The bottom line is maybe there are any number of reasons why this is something you should look at - even if to just rule it out but if you are a corporate solicitor with upwards of 3 years PQE (they could look at lower but that is perhaps as part of a wider desire to grow rather than befitting the level of this role) then we would like to talk to you.

There is an expectation of solid corporate transactional experience but if that is mixed with elements of general commercial then this could also be of interest.
