Your new company
A non-ministerial department who are responsible for inspecting a range of educational institutions. They currently have a need for a Litigation Lawyer to join their legal team for a minimum of 3 months.

Your new role
As the Litigation Lawyer, you will be supporting on a range of legal work including judicial reviews, tribunals, debt recovery and employment law. You will also support the wider legal and enforcement team on information law and recording of instructions. You will provide accurate and high quality legal advice and support on litigation matters affecting the organisation, including advice on general public law matters. You will act as the principal litigation advisor and take conduct of litigation matters in relation to public law matters such as judicial reviews and other legal claims. Finally, you will liaise with Government Departments and external stakeholders on legal issues affecting the department to ensure that information relating to litigation is shared appropriately.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role, you will be a solicitor or barrister with a minimum of three years post qualification experience and ideally have significant knowledge and experience on judicial reviews including advocacy before courts and tribunals. You should have experience of providing high calibre legal advice and guidance to senior management, junior colleagues and key stakeholders and be able to identify litigation risks and underlying causes, identifying solutions and ensure effective use of time and resource. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey the legal issue in a clear and simple method. Finally, you should have public law experience. Experience of education and/or social care are desirable, but not essential.

In return you will receive a competitive hourly or daily rate. The organisation are currently offering a hybrid working week, with a mixture of home and office working. Initially a 3 month contract, this role is likely to be extended.
