Bournemouth University has an exciting opportunity for you to join their established and well-regarded Legal Services and Corporate Governance team to gain experience working in a diverse and interesting in-house environment.

You will play an integral part in enabling the University to fulfil its vision by advising on a range of contracts and a wide range of other legal matters and supporting some of the Board Committees.

Responsibilities:

You will provide legal advice in relation to contracts received and issued by the University.

Experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are vital.

You will also provide Corporate Governance support to the highest-level committees in the University and will be expected to monitor follow up actions. You will contribute to the enhancement of Corporate Governance across the University, through the delivery of staff training, contribution to policy and procedures and new projects.

You will be a key member of the team working across the whole University in relation to Legal Services and Corporate Governance.

You will work with senior decision-makers including, directly with the Chair of Board, Deputy Chair of Board and Committee Chairs.

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis until 14 February 2023, to cover the maternity leave of an established member of staff. Consideration may also be given to the position being offered as a secondment opportunity but this would need to be discussed with their line managers prior to application.

The University is currently trialling hybrid working until March 2022 which is a blend of on campus and remote working. Further details will be provided during the recruitment process.
