Job Details

Our upper mid-market law firm client is seeking an additional partner and has the flexibility and coverage to consider partner applicants on a part-time or full-time basis.

The HoD is happy to talk to both existing partners and also those just below this level who are looking for a step up to a partnership role. There is an expectation that you will be able to bring some of your own business and demonstrate a track record of BD and networking, though less so at the junior level.

Of particular interest are those lawyers who have had some (though not exclusive) exposure to the financial services sector as this is an area of continuing focus within the team and also forms a substantial sector focus across the firm. So, you can be assured that in relation to FS and matters such as the SM&CR this is not a ‘greenfield’ site and you can rely on existing pockets of expertise, clients, support and also cross-referral.

The current department is well resourced and supported by a strong associate base. It is already undertaking significant work in the FS sector with clients and panel relationships amongst traditional banks and building societies, challengers and funds and wants to build on considerable success to date. It is an employer led practice and the profile of any incoming lateral will likely be focused on either non-contentious work or a mix.

We know this firm well and how much thought the business has given to flexible working and supporting partners and lawyers. They can point to a number of examples of successful partners working on a part-time basis and can accommodate those who need this balance. This flexibility of approach is reflective of a positive and empathetic culture across the firm and contributes to really good retention at all levels.
