Finance Lawyer (3-8PQE) - Hong Kong

Our client is internationally recognised as possessing one of the premier finance practices of any offshore firm. Their considerable Hong Kong office covers an extremely diverse spectrum of British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Bermuda finance law related issues and, in response to sustained client work, they now have a particular need for a candidate with a strong background in general banking and/or structured finance to join their highly rated team. The role presents an exciting opportunity to an ambitious and hard-working associate to really make their mark and offers enhanced career prospects within what is a truly meritocratic and supportive environment. Financial regards are on a par with the Magic Circle. Relocation assistance and sponsorship will be offered where needed.

Selection criteria includes:

• Ambitious, hard-working and a good team player.
• Have in the region of 3 to 8 years post qualification experience in banking and/or structured finance in a leading onshore or offshore firm. Exceptional candidates with more years of post-qualification experience will be also considered.
• English qualified / admitted lawyer is preferred but not essential for a strong candidate.
• Solid legal knowledge of financing and security documentation, structures and law, ideally obtained from training and deal experience at a leading international law firm.
• Willingness to participate in business development activities.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Strong Chinese language skills preferred, but not absolutely essential for the right candidate.
• Sound academics.
• Experience of working in Hong Kong with a good network of existing contacts would be an advantage, but not essential.
