General Commercial Litigation - 2+ PQE - London

The firm's dispute resolution department works across international arbitration, civil fraud, securities litigation and general commercial litigation such as warranty claims and shareholder actions, and in this role you will have the opportunity to become involved in a broad spectrum of work across all areas.

Due to a strong and growing pipeline of new instructions, an opportunity has arisen for a mid-level Associate to join this specialist team.

In this role, you will act for a broad range of clients including well known global names. Most of the work is UK-based but may involve overseas seats of arbitration or foreign court jurisdictions, or else the application of foreign laws in the UK. Most of the work undertaken is "one-off" and in general the firm's clients are not volume or instutional in nature - the department prides itself on the variety and quality of the work and on its collegiate nature. Some interest, or experience, in one or other of international arbitration or civil fraud (or both) is desirable but not essential. More is a willingness to learn and develop.

Lawyers in this team are encouraged to take on a high level of responsibility for the day-to-day management of their caseload (under excellent partner supervision where appropriate). In addition to the legal work, the successful candidate would also be involved in business development activities with a view to developing the practice and client and referrer relationships.

In order to be considered for this position you will have:

• A strong academic background.
• Training and at least 2 years' PQE in a broad mix of dispute resolution work gained from a City, International, or high quality regional firm.
• Excellent drafting skills.
• A common sense, down-to-earth approach.
• Commerciality and the ability to work in a sometimes fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment.
• The ability to deal with clients and colleagues in a relaxed and confident manner.
