Paralegal/Claims Handler - Professional Indemnity

They are leaders in Insurance, Health, Real Estate and are recognised as experts throughout the sectors that they service. They currently have a excellent opportunity for a Paralegal/Claims Handler to join their Professional Indemnity team in Bristol, who act on numerous high value and sensitive claims for clients throughout the UK including solicitors, surveyors, accountants, brokers, engineers, architects and their insurers.

Your new role

You will manage a varied professional indemnity caseload under supervision. This will include developing a knowledge of legal issues in respect of a variety of professions as well as building an understanding of each profession's own rules, procedures and regulatory framework. You will conduct reviews of new cases, assess liability and quantum and establish strategy for the case, as well as draft correspondence to brokers/insureds requesting additional information as required. You will resolve claims through negotiation of settlement, rebuttal of claim and/or declining of cover and play a key role in developing and maintaining client relationships.

What you'll need to succeed

You will either be an experienced paralegal with an insurance or commercial background, preferably within the field of professional indemnity. Most importantly, you will have an interest in the insurance sector and particularly professional indemnity, and you will be client focused with an ability to build strong relationships with client and third party contacts at all levels.
